Solution for infusionAntituberculosis drug. It has a bacteriostatic effect against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and, when used in combination with other anti-TB drugs, delays the onset of drug-resistance and potentiates effects of co-administered drugs. The tuberculostatic effect of PAS is due to its competitive antagonism with p-aminobenzoic acid and biotin which are mycobacterial growth factors.
